ASIS International has an Educational Institutions Council. Its objectives are to:
- Investigate and report on challenges encountered while developing and operating security programs within educational institutions.
- Encourage membership in ASIS International on the part of those individuals responsible for the security function in educational institutions.
Liaison with educational institutions has been adopted as one of the primary objectives the Southwestern Ontario Chapter of ASIS International. Clearly that includes those performing a security function within an educational institution. However, equally important are faculty who are teaching future security professionals within our post secondary educational institutions and the students themselves. Our meetings and other educational programs provide a means for educators to network with others security professionals, many of whom have teaching / training experience. Students will benefit from the knowledge they gain from our educational programs and potentially develop employment opportunities as a result of their exposure to current security professionals.
If you are a representative of an educational institution and wish to explore the benefits of ASIS International, to have a presentation delivered by a member of our chapter, or to invite representation from our chapter to an activity hosted by your institution we would ask you to contact us by e-mail at info@asis-swontario.org. We will ensure that a member of our Chapter Liaison Committee contacts you at their earliest opportunity.
